The Rock of Cashel is a formidable series of religious structures that overlooks County Tipperary in Ireland. The area holds significant religious and political history, as the ancient seat for the Kings of Munster it is said to be the site where St. Patrick baptized King Muirchertach Ua Briain. The oldest buildings date to the 12th century when the King donated the land to the Church. Overall the site houses a round tower, cathedral, chapel, and a graveyard featuring several iconic Celtic Crosses. This is one of my most favorite places in Ireland, with it being a quick and convenient bus trip from Dublin it should be a quintessential stop for any Irish travels! #Ireland #History

The staff was very friendly and would go out of their way to make sure you had the best stay possible. The only downside was I couldn’t figure out how to turn the fan on in the bathroom. As seen from the Rock of Cashel burial grounds, I took about 8 pictures of the Abbey and in each one there was almost freakish clarity of the abbey. Definitely a very "thin place." #green
