This is truly a historic property, and have a wonderful feel of old time Montana. However, there are problems for older or disabled people. There is no elevator, so if you have mobility issues, getting to the second floor with your luggage is a problem. Indeed, there is not even a bell staff or offer from the front desk to assist with the luggage. I can understand if you buy an old hotel that has no elevator, your options are limited, but at least there should be a warning on the website for folks with mobility challenges.
A second issue is that in Three Forks, at least on the day we were there, the selection of breakfast options were nil (one cafe with health cautions and the other closed). So, if you wanted breakfast, you were limited to the continental breakfast at the hotel, which consisted of some bananas and cellophane wrapped muffins. I would hope for better.
However, I cannot rave enough about the onsite restaurant and bar that was open for dinner. Everything was 5 stars...the service, the drinks, the menu and the food quality were excellent. It would be competitive with any restaurant in a large urban area. It made carrying two large suitcases up the second floor totally worth it. So, there is a lot of potential for this little hotel.
