"With a room price of over $400 for one night, unfortunately, I was expecting more than just a standard hotel. No real greeting. The room was no better with no more amenities that we had received at any other bed-and-breakfast for a quarter of the price. Many we stayed at were top notch and did not cost 1/3 as much. The only thing redeemable about the breakfast was the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. The plate was beautiful and it was delicious. The help yourself area had nonexistent, fresh fruit, yogurt basically only a selection of bread and jams left a lot to be desired. This is what I would expect from a property charging $125 a night. It is not even tourist season yet...do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else,"
"Phenomenal stay at a breathtaking area in Scotland The Isle of Skye .The room was super clean and had everything one needed in a compact package .We stayed two nights just last week ! The breakfasts which were included were amazing and after having dinner there our first night ,having dinner there for the second night was a no brainer ! We had such kind and attentive service from Mina and Mahmoud . They were so naturally nice and hospitable it felt like we were at home ! The only knock at all was the bartender who worked on night of April 18th , he seemed disinterested just for a simple whisky pour, way different than the professional attentive almost loving care by Mina and Mahmoud . We were in Scotland for 17 days and he by far had the coldest inhospitable demeanor of any bartender THE ENTIRE TRIP ! For a jewel of a bar with beautiful lighting ,displays ,and seating it is even more surprising of how bad his demeanor was .Everything at Brackenhide was 5 star this male bartender who worked night of April 18th was a 1star because he didnt spill our drinks and muttered a thankyou!"
"Incredible property in Skye!!!! Can’t say enough about this wonderful property. Pictures don’t do it justice. It feels warm and welcoming from the moment you walk in. The rooms are so cozy. There is an outdoor patio with a magnificent view. There is also a lovely lounge area inside with an honor bar (brilliant idea!). We met one of the owners who is also the chef. He and his partner have poured so much love into this place. Brooke who multitasks in many positions assisting the owners to run the property was amazing! She welcomed us to the property at check in, served all the meals at breakfast, maintained the rooms and still had time to chat with us giving us recommendations for things to do/restaurants all with a smile on her face. We saw information in the lounge on the Skye Textile Mill and decided to try it. What an incredible experience. So happy to see the Hame supports local artisans. Our experience at the Hame far exceeded our expectations. A+++"
"This B&B was fantastic. The staff were all wonderful. The room and views were amazingly beautiful and charming. The entire place feels like a fairy tale."
"This was an incredible stay! It’s not a budget friendly option but worth every penny. The location is to die for, the house and property are absolutely stunning and clean and we had great sleeps (sooo quiet) and the most relaxing time! It’s the best place to unwind and detach. Book this place for your next personal retreat or family unplug week."
"Pros
Beautiful location with spectacular views.
The cottage was very clean and provided everything we needed.
The breakfast at the hotel was so delicious and the staff was beyond accommodating.
Con’s
The first night was very quiet, but the second night we heard talking from both sides of our room until 2am.
The bed wasn’t super comfortable.
The shower is really small.
I tried to communicate with the owners a few times and never got a response.
Overall, this was a great stay in a beautiful location and I would recommend it when visiting Isle of Skye. "
"Dale and Fiona were wonderful hosts. The property is in a nice quiet location close to Quiraing and Portree. The room is very nice with amenities including a stocked mini-fridge along with the updated bathroom. There is a separate breakfast / dining area as well. The public road to Cleadil House does have a few potholes to watch out for. Overall, excellent stay."
