"It was my wife's favorite place on the trip. We loved the area around the hotel. The lobby was great for visiting with our guest. We needed to do laundry and that was readily available. "
"That’s an old motel, the room had a strong cold cigarette smell that was impregnated in the air and in all fabrics, especially the pillows. It’s obviously a place where people go to have parties or worst and do not care about respecting the place. The room had many mosquitos probably due to the previous customers leaving the windows open to smoke inside. The bathtub had pinkish mold and the bathroom smelt like sewage water. "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Westgate Hotel in Ximending, Taipei. The location is unbeatable—just steps from the MRT/subway station, surrounded by endless dining options, massage parlours, and within easy walking distance to everything in Ximending.
We booked the Executive Suite since we were traveling with four large suitcases, and the room was adequately spacious, clean, and comfortable. The standout, however, was the exceptional service—from the warm welcome at the front desk to the attentive staff in the restaurant, everyone was polite, friendly, and genuinely welcoming.
Our room included daily complimentary breakfast, offering a great selection of both Western and local dishes. The food was fresh, delicious, and well-presented—though it can get crowded at peak times.
Overall, Westgate Hotel exceeded our expectations, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again on our next visit to Taipei. Highly recommended for both location and hospitality."
"It’s a very top 5 star hotel in the location. I almost stay here every time I come. Very good except this time when I checked in, I was assigned a room with no espresso coffee Machine. But they correct it as soon as I asked."
This beautiful, highly traditional street is every tourist’s dream. Bring your camera, because everywhere you look is something delightful to photograph.
