Top Tessel Hotel Reviews

Hôtel Le St Patrice
10/10 Excellent
"We loved our stay at Hotel St. Patrice! This historic building has a lot of character and the owners are lovely and helpful. Our room was clean, spacious and quiet and the bed was comfortable. It’s is well located near many restaurants and attractions in the lovely little town of Bayeux. We did the breakfast one of the mornings and it was delicious and a good value. Only thing to be aware of is they close from 12-4 each day. Unfortunately we arrived just after noon and had to carry our bags around town for 4 hours. I would recommend this hotel and will stay again if we return to this lovely area."

Manoir d'Hastings
10/10 Excellent
"Staff were wonderful. Breakfast is an extra charge, but had a good selection. No AC, which is usual for this area, but when we were there it was a little warmer for the area so the room was a little uncomfortable. Thankfully you can open the windows and the staff provided a fan, so we managed. The restaurant at night requires a reservation, which we did not realize ahead of time, so we had to find somewhere else to eat, so make reservations if you want to stay on-site. The food looked delicious, I was sad to not be able to eat there."

Grand Hôtel du Luxembourg & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"They staff were very welcoming. The room was prefect for us as well and provided 2 fans. They offer breakfast with an additional price which was great. The pool and hot tub were great.Wish we stayed and extra day."

Churchill Hotel Bayeux Centre
8/10 Good
"Perfect location where all the tours start. Central location 10 minute walk from train station. Lovely property. Good air con. No elevators. Good breakfast"

Pierre & Vacances Residence Le Green Beach
6/10 Okay
"Spacious but basic accommodation. The kitchen/ living area is good and there is a pleasant outside seating area. However, the bathroom is disappointing and the only toilet was downstairs ( a steep staircase) The main drawback is the fact that you have to make up and strip your own beds. Not what I expect from a 4* accommodation. Having said that, the pool is great. Be aware that reception closes at 7pm so later check ins need to be mindful. While we were there TV reception was limited even for the basic French TV channels. There are no English TV channels."

Château de Bellefontaine
6/10 Okay
"The Chateau is very charming and quaint. The rooms don’t offer air conditioning but they provided fans. Initially the fan we had was blowing heat and the staff couldn’t locate a different one for us so we saw them assembling something at registration and when we returned to our room later there was a brand new, better fan waiting for us. It was much appreciated given the heat wave. The mattresses are hard and lumpy. The location is fantastic! It was a great late afternoon when we could sit in the shade with a glass of wine."

Hotel Le Bayeux
10/10 Excellent
"The hotel was clean and had the basic essentials but the real selling point was the room had a fantastic air conditioning unit. We stayed there during an unusual heat wave in May. Outside temps neared 90 degrees so after being outside the whole day it was nice to come back to a room that cooled you off."

ibis Caen Porte De Bretagne
6/10 Okay
"Stayed 4 nights. Clean room, comfy bed. Breakfast was ok, eggs, bacon pastries and breads. Not always quick to replenish, and toaster broken one morning. Restaurant was ok, nothing special, but no other restaurants nearby apart from Mc Donald’s. Generally staff friendly and helpful. Always plenty of parking. Dogs seemed to be allowed in for breakfast and 2 were actually sitting on seats at the table being fed meats by their owners!"

Campanile PRIME - Caen Centre Gare
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed here as a base for our visit to the beaches in Normandy. We parked at the hotel but the spaces are limited. Good restaurants near by which were walkable. Pizza restaurant next door was excellent. The room we had was on the top floor and were told at check in the elevator did not go to that floor. The desk person took are bags up the last floor. We are an older couple so I do not know if he just it because of age or it was standard. If you have a lot of luggage or need assistance you should write to them."
