"From the moment we walked in and we were greeted at the front desk, to our breakfasts, to dinner in the resturant the staff made us feel right at home. The rooms themselves were large, very clean, the beds comfortable, and the views of the clew bay amazing. Room service was fast and hot, the laundry service as well was very fast. I would recommend this hotel in a heart beat to anyone. We stayed in many hotels while in Ireland and this one was by far the best. As a side note there is a lot to do...
"Stayed here for a week as a base to mooch around Mayo where my family roots are. Hotel decor is a little tired here and there but that did not affect our enjoyment or not make hotel VFM. Lots of friendly local/Irish staff, which I think helps to add warmth to the atmosphere and is perhaps unusual for this size of hotel - perhaps because of Westport’s size? Food is great. Had been meaning to climb Croagh Patrick for a while and finally got round to it this time. This is not for the feint-hearted...
"The rooms at the Nevins Lodge were newly renovated and a spacy :-) bath. The beds are spatious and new. The people at the pub were very helpful and very supportive.
When you book we recommend you ask for rooms to the back of the building. The Nevins is at THE Wild Atlantic Way, with at least during the day a lot of traffic."
"First time in Castlebar and found this hotel to be a great location to stay in before my meeting next day.
Whilst i arrived after 7pm and the restaurant kitchen closed at 7pm, I rang the reception and they offered me the choice to pre order a dinner - went for Roast Beef.
On arrival check-in was very swift, my room was warm and comfortable and dinner when served was delicious.
Quiet room with warm shower and great bed - so superb sleep enjoyed.

"My husband and I stayed here on a day we went to Achill Island. We only stayed one night here. They have a bar and restaurant attached to the hotel, you do have to make a reservation but we were able to easily make a reservation when we arrived to the hotel. We are in the bar area and the food was very good. The view was beautiful. At night our room got pretty chilly and we weren’t able to figure out how to turn the heat up but we were okay.
