"The Hotel Villa Rioddi was one of the very best places I've ever stayed. The owner, Luca, was most attentive to our every need, whether it was suggesting a day's itinerary, pouring us a delicious glass of local wine and producing a fabulous breakfast every morning. "We stayed in the suite for 2 weeks and it was a wonderful jumping off point for Tuscany. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.The breakfast options were also great. Volterra is a sizable town and on the tourist trail for people coming in from Florence for sure, but we still had no trouble getting restaurant reservations and things were much more quiet in the evenings."

"Our stay at Il Defizio was relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable. The location is quiet with beautiful views of the rolling Tuscan hills. The complementary European breakfast was fresh and the service was excellent. Many Tuscan towns like San Gimignano and Volterra were a short drive away. Highly recommended."

"Really nice scenic view to Volterra, typical oil trees and fields around. Calm and relaxed evironment, ideal for longwalks and relaxation. Pool is also enjoyable even in October. Room was nice and clean, wifi working well. Restaurant was excellent, the wild boar dishes can recommend! Staff friendly and helpful. Washing clothes was also possible so if you are mid trip or longer staying that is also an advantage. Enjoyed our stay there!"

"Probably a hotel you are dreaming to stay one day…! About 40 minutes from Pisa, there is a hidden diamond. Like you enter in a Time Machine and you return hundreds of years before. Absolutely fantastic decoration, great rooms and breakfast. Last but not least, the people that work there, do everything to makes you feel like your home.
