"The room was nice and clean but really in need of a renovation. The bathroom is very dated old shower and cracked tiles, fan in bathroom didn't work. The carpet and furniture and TV in the room are also dated but we were glad to have full sky channels. The staff were lovely and helpful and we enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Best aspects were the view and position on the lake as well as the heated pool. The grotto was still out of order. Overall I would say the room was like a 3 star and let's down...

We were comfortable and warm and the only bothersome things were that the mat at the door was a tripping hazard, but we could fix that ourselves!
An artificial hanging plant outside the door was another removable nuisance as we kept hitting our heads on it.
Unfortunately the hairdryer in the bathroom doesn't work.
None of these minor things spoilt our stay, and we would go there again."
"Was very cold in Taupo and was hard to heat up the unit with the very high ceilings, however the electric blanket kept us cozy. Stayed one night so didn't use spa pool or laundry. Staff were very nice and friendly and the view of the lake is lovely."
