"As seasoned travelers over decades, both within Australia and OS, we had high expectations for this 2-night stay which were not met, given the price point. This was not a cheap stay, but we were happy to pay for a different 'experience'. Nice area but! The obvious things included unlike what was advertised about "Free Wi-Fi. Available in the cottage" it didn't exist. We didn't even have mobile reception unless we walked to the 'Telstra pole' (their written advice in room) at next property where...

"The cabin 5 was clean on arrival but needed a lot of maintenance and updating. The air con vibrated, the bed side lamp flickered, the bathroom sliding door dragged making it hard to open and close, there was no smoke detector in living- sleeping area, the fire blanket was on wall above hotplates, the bathroom fan was noisy, the requested bed for 3rd person wasn't made, the table was all loose and spun. But it was comfortable."

"The cottage was conveniently located to drive to Port Arthur historic site as well as hikes with beautiful views. The gardens on the property were beautiful and it was a quick walk down to the water for sunset views."

"Outstanding property and environment, but unfortunately understaffed with poor communication. Could have been the best stay of our trip but spoiled by amazing lack of information. It felt like a cynical exercise in capitalism. "

"Comfortable studio. Clean sheets and towels. Well equipped kitchen. Hosts not helpful with check in process for late arrival. Studio had an unusual, not pleasant smell when I arrived. Otherwise safe and friendly environment and right on Snug Beach."

"We loved our short stay at the Rivulet and our room was spacious, well appointed and with a luxurious extra wide bed. We were aware of a shower running in another room but overall we had a very comfortable stay. The grounds and the amenities and on-site parking were also much appreciated. Very well located on Sandy Bay Road with a bus stop almost at the door. Robert and Kathy both helped us have an enjoyable break in Hobart. Definitely recommend, we will certainly be back. Anne and...
