"This Bed and Breakfast was truly a unique experience. It’s an old mid 1800s Victorian house that’s been renovated and well preserved for guests. The bathrooms were very new and nicely remodeled. The bedrooms had beautiful collections of antiques decor with modern flares like TV and electric fireplace. The dining room’s decor was eclectic and neat. Breakfast was yummy and the owner takes time to make it feel special. Really neat grounds right on the river. Lodging style vary which is unique for 1 property; inside the house, a cottage, and a yurt! We stayed in the grand suite, which was two rooms, the empire and the quartz rooms with conjoined a door in between. We had a balcony overlooking the river and gardens. The owner is off property so we never met her, check in and out is hands off, but just a phone call away if you need her and she can be there if needed. Had a 4 year old with us, and it definitely wasn't child proofed so we had to make sure all the antiques were out of reach but we made it work. Our daughter was so enthralled by all the things to look at. Definitely worth the stay if you appreciate vintage flare."

"Absolutely terrible. When we first checked in (which took over 20 min) we were given a key card for a room that someone was already occupying. When we were finally assigned a room that wasn’t occupied (another 15min) The room was dirty with cigarette ashes, only 1 towel, no coffee maker. The ceiling in the bathroom was falling apart! We dropped our stuff went to get dinner. Came back an hr later, someone was opening our door with a key given to them by the same staff that checked us in. This was around 9pm, we finally fall asleep then there is a loud commotion around 1:30 am as another guest once again tries opening our door and the same staff member that checked us in began knocking on our door loudly, I told them the room was occupied. As there was no sign provided to put on the door. I was unable to go back to sleep the rest of the night. When we checked out I tried talking to the staff but was ignored by an employee on their phone so I left the key card and walked out. Worst best western I’ve ever been to. "

"We enjoyed our 2 bedroom 2 bath unit. It was clean but we were missing washcloths, tissues, and peper towels. The bed in the main room was very soft. We enjoyed sitting outside in the grass area but it needed some repairs and cleaning up. A new sign for the property would help it look cleaner."

"Dirty mirror with smudged hand prints, broken closet door, peeling wallpaper, holes in the wall, no towel racks, hair in bathroom. Trash outside the door. Old ragged carpet. Awful place. Toilet so low it looked like it belonged in a kindergarten . Should be updated and remodeled. Location lovely and close to town."

"In general, this place was way overpriced for what it offered. We were offered a water bottle upon check in, which we got to tote with our luggage to our room. For $325 per night, might they arrange to make water bottles standard for the room? The breakfast was okay, but very staff hands-off. How about a pitcher of cream for coffee instead of thimble sized plastic "cups"? The place felt secure, but I'm still not sure what we were paying for that made this place supposedly special."

"Oldest hotel, amazingly restored. Has its quirks which makes it even more intriguing to stay there. We have stayed here before and loved it even more this time. Staff is amazing and makes your stay welcoming and comfortable."

"I had been wanting to stay at The Pines Inn and Cottages for some time, so I worried my expectations may be inflated - but I moved my bags in and never wanted to leave. 🌷 There are so many room details that make it easy to be away from home, the bed is so S-O-F-T, and the grounds are magic waiting to happen. It was lovely in early spring, but I can imagine what an amazing place the Inn grounds become later in the year. I cannot wait to reurn. 🍃"
