B&B in Pays de Valois

"We arrived in heavy rain, and the owner, brought out broken umbrellas. He initially said we couldn’t drive up to drop off bags but allowed it in the end because of the weather. The property looked decent at first, but once inside our “best room,” the reality hit hard. The room stank of stale, dirty odours. The bathroom smelled like awful, persistent drain fumes—not just a normal toilet smell. The kettle was filthy, and the water came out cloudy—luckily, I noticed before drinking it....

When I arrived, there was no one there, but I had booked late, and the host didn't expect to have a guest. But he arrived soon after I did. They make their own jellies and jams from fruits from their own garden. Quite good. Very nice quiet area. "

The villa itself is a historic home and the family offered us the chance to read about its history, which made our stay even more memorable. If I am ever in this area again, it would be a place I would gladly return to."
