"Beautiful rainforest property with good birding opportunity, birds song, cicadas, and frogs, but "touristy", so the natural vibe gets ruined. It seems they cater to tour groups, so not very private or queit. Have to pay for 3 meals a day but on their schedule that's too late for serious birding and not as healthy as I'd prefer. I travel solo and do not enjoy sitting by myself or wasting time I could be out finding birds sitting in a restaurant. I go ut birding before daybreak so, lunch as late...

"My wife and I stayed at the Kunken Lodge along our travels around the beautiful country of Costa Rica. "There is no way this is 3.5 star and it is very expensive for a small motel room. Cold water shower (despite it working for a couple of seconds) Owner has a pack of dogs that bark all the time - they locked them in when I complained but were out barking again at 6am It says it is inclusive of breakfast but they didn’t provide it and said it was a mistake So really poor but the little restaurants nearby were great and I probably had the best meal so far, it’s also a great place for spotting...
