"Clean room and friendly cleaner. Fast and professional check in and check out. Breakfast room was noisy and crowded. Staff at the breakfast was unorganised. We where disturbd by noise from the hallway and and other rooms. There was smell of cigarette smoke in our room. The pool area lacked cleaning and sunbeds. Some staff in the pool area was arrogant. Wifi was slow. Good sektion of breakfast dishes. "

"It was located right in the heart of Colaba and just one block from the Cuffe Parade metro station. The staff were extremely friendly and polite."

"Too much salt in food. Idlis were small and not fluffy. Stuff from the bakery was heavy and over sweet. The fruit was in shallow plates so it kept falling to the floor when serving. Bananas were in bunches in a net bowl with a circular bottom making it difficult to take. 2 girls in the area outside Trattoria were very efficient and 3 boys in Trattoria were professional. Other staff there and the interns should be better trained. "

"I was skeptical about this hotel when first viewing it online. I had been to India before and burned by photos that do not represent current conditions at the hotel. That was not the case at Majlis. The hotel is not new and shows its age, but it is really good by local standards. The general neighborhood is also safe and vibrant, and includes plenty of shops and restaurants within a short walk. The staff was very kind and helpful, and always welcomed me back with a smile. I would definitely stay at Majlis again. "

"The first room we were offered was absolutely diabolical, it didn't even have a window and smelled of paint! Fair play to the hotel they did change us to a room that was marginally better for no additional cost but if we were staying there for any longer than one night I would've moved to a different hotel. English health and safety would 100% have the hotel condemned, there is zero fire escapes and god forbid there is a fire in the building, I doubt there would be any survivors!"
