As far as hostels go this way great. Varied spread at the breakfast buffet, laundry room, good showers. The only negative for us was we booked a private room, but it wasn't really private as it shared a balcony with a dorm. This meant if you were a light sleeper there was no chance as the lads stayed up playing guitar till about 2 am. We asked to move rooms in the morning but they didn't have any available. Luckily the next few nights weren't as rowdy but still not ideal.

My Manly art break.

The staff are reallt friendly and super helpful! My room was ready early, so i could book in and catch some sleep. Really clean room, faculities clean and well serviced. Walking distance to most everything in Manly, loads of things inhouse to keep you entertained and mingling, if you want to. Thanks team, ill be back!

The staff were really friendly and helpful. It’s a nice place to stay. But very expensive for what you get. And our room was not cleaned once on our 5 night stay (however I think this is because we booked a private room.) shame there was no air conditioning

Lovely hostel in a great location -- especially enjoyed the curtained beds which made sleeping easy and great breakfast! Generally good cleanliness, although did see a cockroach in the hallway one evening. Also, the rooms did get really hot in the evening and it was hard to bring the temperature down, but if you don't mind a toasty room it wasn't too bad.

Stoke Beach House is located near Manly beach and the ferry. Bathrooms are below par for cleanliness. A staff member walked into an occupied double room after midnight. Private rooms are located near the onsite bar, so expect noise. Dormitory rooms 101 to 107 are dark, poorly ventilated ovens with no air conditioning, esp in Summer. Average age of backpackers staying here is around 23 years old.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I had booked a private King Bed in my own room which was great… I didn’t want to share a room as I’m in my mid fifties and wanted peace and quiet. Although the room was very basic, it is clean and comfortable. A night lamp would be very beneficial when reading in bed. I could lock the shower cubicle which gave me privacy and the breakfast the next morning was yummy. I met some lovely young people travelling around Manly so I was able to give them some of my favourite places to see & visit in the area. Overall it was a very pleasant and positive experience for someone older like me, as this was my very first time ever in a hostel type accommodation. 😊
