"We had a wonderful stay in the Highlands and couldn’t recommend this place highly enough. Before arriving, we were slightly concerned that having the owner living next door might feel a little awkward or intrusive, but it was quite the opposite. The hostess was one of the kindest and most welcoming people we have met. She struck the perfect balance of being available if needed while completely respecting our privacy. From the moment we booked, Laura’s communication was exceptional. She even...

Top Strathpeffer Hotel Reviews

River Ness Hotel, a member of Radisson Individuals

10/10 Excellent

"The room is clean, the hotel staff is very helpful, the dinner food is delicious, and the hotel is close to some attractions that we like to visit. In a word, we had a wonderful stay at River Ness Hotel."

Ben Wyvis Hotel

8/10 Good

"This is a beautiful spot. Breakfast was very good. The room was clean. Only complaint is we couldn’t turn the heater off in our room. The front clerk said would look after and then when we asked again later she said maintenance gone home so eventually it would turn off as was on a timer. It did but we had both windows open until about 9pm. The other two staff we interacted with were lovely."

Columba Hotel Inverness by Compass Hospitality

8/10 Good

"Unfortunately it was massively over priced but this was due to the Loch Ness marathon weekend. We stayed 2 nights and were very disappointed that we didn't get breakfast on the first morning due to having to leave early for the marathon. I think they could have offered to open half hour earlier personally considering that there were a lot of runners staying at the hotel! The breakfast the next day was nice enough though so no complaints there. They had no chef for evening meals which we weren't told about before coming up either so later Saturday night we had to go out and look for food which was tricky given it was a really busy weekend for the city! When we booked there was nowhere to click double "bed" so unfortunately we had 2 single beds. When I asked about it after checking my invoice the lady behind the desk said that I had to stipulate when booking even though I clicked double room!! The lady on reception on the day we checked out however was very lovely. She booked us a taxi and she was very helpful."

Waverley Guest House

8/10 Good

"I give this property a solid 4 in its class. That is to say an older, affordable walk-up in the city centre and near the train station. They could renovate, modernize and charge triple the rate. I had to depart before the complimentary breakfast was served but it looked plentiful and fresh. If you’re looking for basic overnight accommodation then this should suit."

The Retreat Hotel

8/10 Good

"The ambiance of the property was fabulous. It is an old building and was charming. The main bed was comfortable BUT the futon's were actually chairs that folded out and they were EXTREMELY uncomfortable. There was no staff available. It was all contactless. The bar was the same no people. If you didn't have cell phone to use the QR code you could not get a drink. The breakfast if you didn't pay for it in advance was not available as expected. I found the place charming but unwelcoming. However the location was amazing."
