The staff was friendly, efficient and organized. The inn itself was very comfortable. I never felt rushed, I could come and go at my leisure. The inn itself has more of a comfortable home atmosphere compared to a hotel

Loved it!

Our stay was amazing! The building is adorable and our room was very clean and had its own fireplace. We opted to purchase breakfast sandwiches rather than eat the free continental breakfast, and they were great to take on the road. Highly recommend!

Wonderful

The Inn was great! A little older but had great charm! Staff was very friendly and helpful! Sat at the bar and visited, didn’t eat at the restaurant but the food looked and smelled delicious!

My family and I stayed here for 4 days and we absolutely adored this place. Let’s just say every time we went out somewhere, we wanted to just come back to independence inn. It felt like home! It was the most relaxing vacation we’ve had. Will definitely be coming back in the near future.

Peaceful Get Away Place

Very clean and comfortable room. Lovely furnished property, both inside and outside. Very peaceful surroundings. One of the owners was there in the morning and he was very hospitable, showing us around and sharing information. There were board games to play as well as a piano. Lovely place to stay!

The inn was lovely with a nice historic charm as expected. Self check-in was easy. The room was clean and had what we needed as well as the common kitchenette area, however leaving early we did not want to wake anyone so used it minimally. We were not aware that the restaurant and bar had closed and found ourselves at the deli for some pizza. Overall experience was nice and would return if we were in the area.

weird in a nice way

It was a low-frills room but clean, comfortable, and dark enough. Tap water was not delicious, water pressure strange. It was cool staying in a really old inn! I liked the ambiance and had a good night of sleep.

we checked in around 9 pm and was dark out. no staff at the location . felt little spooky at the beginning, called the Inn Keeper and she explained about the building. It was a old building but it was clean . had a small kitchenette which was very convenient for us. they had every thing you need for a Breakfast. i had not issues for a one night stay. beautiful lake near this stay.

We never saw a member of the staff, it was self check in and out. There was supposed to be breakfast included, nothing. Maybe during a different season? The building was built in 1832 and was very charming. The rooms were comfortable. Kind of off the beaten path and no restaurants or stores around.

Our experience at the Inn was remarkable. If you are looking for a central place to go and explore the area, this is it. The owners and the staff were exceptional. Anything that we needed was addressed immediately. The food at the attached restaurant was second to none. The Independence Inn has old world charm and New World management which makes it the perfect place to stay and enjoy the beautiful New Hampshire foliage or any of the many other interests that the area has to offer. I would recommend The Independence Inn to anyone. We hope to return again soon and look forward to seeing the owners again. Thank you all for your hospitality!

Place lacks from being able to meet someone as we expected for a place identified as an Inn. Advertised continental breakfast is basic in a self-served kitchenette on the middle floor without any adjacent sit-down area. Mini-fridge in room was not cleaned and had leftovers from a past customer. Parking was good.

Over all very cozy. Good place for our family to crash at night. It was very self serve in one way with putting sheets on the extra beds, but the staff took the time to fire up the ACs for us, so it was nice and cool on a hot summer evening. Room was clean, but the fridge was missed when cleaning out and a dirty cloth was missed in the tub...these things happen sometimes! We would definitely come back to this inn and explore the area again if opportunity comes up.

This is a no-contact Inn with a phone number for the Innkeeper posted. Very nice room, but the latch on the bathroom door didn’t work so you had to place something against the door to keep it closed. The lamp bulb by the night stand was dead but we switched it with another one in the room. We appreciated the breakfast offerings, kitchenette, white noise machine, and reasonable price.
