Für eine Nacht okay. Die Küche war neu, das Bett bequem. Der Zustand des Gebäudes ist allerdings etwas in die Jahre gekommen.

Horrible experience!

The room was not provided. We were outside whole night shivering in cold. No checkin information was provided. Calls to hotel were not answered. Even hotels.com representative tried on my behalf, no answer by the hotel. I'm still not sure about the refund as we didn't get the room.

The worst experience in my life, they never send he bought. I was never able to get my key to open my room. They never respond to any messages. There is no Workers there is no receptionist they put if you need anything called this number. The number never respond I called them hundred times I end up sleeping in my car, hoping that someone will come and will open my room. Unfortunately I wake up in the morning in my car and just drive away the worst experience in my life. They said they have virtual assist, but it’s not available. There is no connection at all.

The room was great. I read reviews the night before and they complained about the floors squeaking and kitchen not being good. They must have remodeled since those reviews. Floors were all new and the kitchen was great. The email could have given more info on how to get there but if you search for Stadsrflot, that is the name of the road and it takes you right there.

Wir waren aufgrund der doch vielen schlechten Bewertungen erst etwas skeptisch, wurden aber vom Gegenteil überrascht. Das Zimmer war sauber, hatte eine kleine moderne Küche, ein großes Bad und auch der Rest war gut eingerichtet. Die Gegend selbst ist sehr ruhig und etwas einsam. Man kann aber wunderbar die Küste und das ursprüngliche Island erkunden , ohne Massentourismus.

Come anticipato in tutte le altre recensioni non viene fornita alcuna istruzione per il check in, che dovrebbe arrivare via mail circa 24 ore prima, diciamo che si può prevenire il problema cercando di contattare la struttura anticipatamente e se non viene fornita riposta contattare via messaggio Expedia che fornirà in brevissimo tempo tutte le informazioni necessarie. (Io ho contattato la struttura circa 2h prima del mio arrivo, dopo un’ora circa di mancata riposta ho contattato Expedia che in 5 minuti mi ha dato numero di appartamento e codice per l’ingresso) Per il resto non ho nulla di cui lamentarmi, l’appartamento è come descritto, ha tutto ciò che è necessario per cucinare e un bagno spazioso

Siamo arrivati e non era presente nessuno in reception, c'era molta confusione perchè varie persone cercavano la Direzione. La comunicazione è stata altrettanto confusionaria. Il pavimento della stanza scricchiolava moltissimo, ma abbiamo apprezzato le grandi vetrate dietro al letto che in caso di aurora permettono di ammirarla al meglio.

Do not book this place. As you can see from other reviews as well, the check in process is impossible. No contact before we arrived, and no one at reception. There is a sign with a number at the reception but no phone to call from. We had to use our overseas phone, incurring roaming charges, but the manager will not pick up. In the end, a builder had to call the manager on a private line and were provided with a room that did not have a kitchenette as we had booked. We complained to the worker who said it was not an issue and we had to call the manager. We tried again and she did not pick up. At this point, another couple were having the same issue. As we were both complaining to the worker, he locked himself away and stopped talking to us so we had nowhere to stay. We had to call the police to try to get the issue sorted but they could not do anything. In the end, we were all refused a room, and had to travel 2 hours to Reykjavik to find another apartment. Do not book - you will have no communication with anyone at all (not even on the phone or online), and the rooms you get will not have a kitchen or even basic utilities (kettle, microwave etc).

Check in process was not great. It says we will receive a email 24 hours before with a lock box code and room number. I never received it. And there was no one at the front desk I had to go search for them. Very low beds. Great water pressure though in the shower! Breakfast was okay, nothing special. And not much to do around the hotel.

I did not receive any communication from the hotel before my stay. Upon arrival, a sign said I could access my room key from a lockbox with a code I had not been emailed, leaving me locked out for the night. Nobody answered the phone number posted at the front desk. After an hour of calling and talking to Expedia support, I was emailed the code. The floors were very creaky, making me worried of disturbing other guests at night by walking around the room. There is an in-room kitchenette featured in photos but none of the accessories (toaster, coffee machine, hot plate, kettle) are plugged in and there was a single outlet on the floor baseboard, meaning you'd have to cook on the floor. The kitchenette felt like it was purely for website photos, not actual use. In the morning, I tried to visit the complimentary breakfast but was told it was for other guests, not Expedia guests.

The apartment itself was very satisfactory. It is perfect for a couple traveling western Iceland, in theory. There is a pretty much full ( small) kitchen. Fridge, utensils, pots, pans, etc. The building and the rooms were clean, no dust or grime aside from a leak around the vent in the bathroom. The building is quite noisy, siding flapping outside and the wind through the vents was quite loud, this isn't necessarily an issue but something to be aware of given the windy location right by the coast. Also the floors are EXTREMELY squeaky. Unfortunately the communication makes getting to the location very stressful. It is located in the parking lot of the neighboring hotel with the same phone number and no front desk other than a sign to a phone number. The problem is when calling that number I received a message saying "you cannot call this number" and since I did not receive the welcome email I was forced to go into the hotel and knock on a door of a very rude but oddly helpful "not manager" living on the property with access to call the owner and he has the key codes in his room. Luckily we were able to get our room eventually without too much more issue. If the owner would fix the lack of communication, ensure the emails are sent with check in instructions ahead of time, or have a phone line placed within the apartment building or the hotel itself to call of there were any issues, this would have been a very nice stay.

Negativ: -CheckIn Code für Schlüssel haben wir nicht vorab per Mail erhalten (ich hatte auch eine Nachricht über Expedia an sie geschickt - ohne Antwort), wir haben dann angerufen - etwas unfreundlich die Dame, aber Ziel erreicht. Generell habe ich die Erfahrung gemacht, das Buchungen über Expedia etwas "extra" sind und daher "Problemchen" auftreten -der Boden vor dem Bett hat geknarzt Ansonsten gut, schöne Aussicht aus dem Fenster!

Communication can improve, since no code was given 24h before as stated and it was needed to call (luckily we did it before the arrival) Room and bathroom were ok in terms of cleanliness, but floors were extremely squaky and you can hear what is going on in the room next to yours since walls are very thin.

Okay apartment, staff not so much

I called Hotels.com when I wasn’t sent the code to get in the apartment. I was told there was a reception to check in at the hotel next door and there wasn’t. I eventually got the code, but in the meantime a couple of cyclists arrived at the hotel to try to get a room and couldn’t because it was closed. They need to communicate better.
