"Very old building, uneven floors gave it character. Very steep steps up to the accommodation level though. No parking, though I thought there was (I guess I misread the information about this place), nearest parking was just round the corner and cost £8 overnight, i.e. 24 hours. This was recommended by the staff when we arrived, not knowing where to park. Next day I asked at nearby Waitrose about free parking and they helpfully pointed out several on-street free parking marked bays which were...

"We booked this room as we were going to a restaurant in the next village and rather get a taxi from.home decided to stay more local. The pub which own the rooms is a beautiful country pub, with good food. The rooms are immaculately kept. Clean and fresh. There are tea and coffee facilities in the room. If you need an irion you can request this. Breakfast is not included i the price, however they supply, porridge and breakfast biscuits in the room for you. I would recommend this place to anyone,...

"Hotel a bit rickety and old fashioned. Shower and toilet facilities a bit tight but at least the room had them. Good wholesome & plentyful. Fabulous open Mike night with eclectic selection of musicians and music. Fabulous .😂 Jemma did great job of cleaning."

"The accommodation was really very nice, clean and comfortable. My only comment was the breakfast first morning ok but the second morning they had run out if 2 of the cereal choices and also Hash browns. The staff were lovely but I must say I was disappointed that morning as we were leaving to go home and we were unable to enjoy the breakfast that should have been available. "

TV aerial cable draped over light fittings, and personally I would’ve liked blackout curtains as the room was very illuminated from outside lighting. but that said I would definitely stay there again. "Why do hotel designers think it is OK to have an ensuite bathroom with no door? A curtain is not an adequate replacement for a door. This was a big issue for us. Also the only seating in our room was 1 dining chair and 1 stool when there was room for something more comfortable. I don't want to have to sit on the bed, particularly at the price this hotel came in at. Everything else was very good."

"Charming village location when I booked I thought we were in st Ives town but glad we were in Houghton as did a lovely circular walk to st Ives from here. Full of character this pub was cosy and welcoming. Great breakfast too."

"Excellent quiet location and good size rooms with everything you need. Very clean. Comfy beds and loved seeing the birds and wildlife too. Could really have done with freezer/ice box in fridges due to wanting to freeze our cool packs for picnics. Tv was too small. Overall we would stay again. "
