"I stayed 1 night at Kingshead. The hotel is relatively new built and does not as such have historical charm. It was decorated and equipped very well and in a nice way. Thew room was spacious , tasteful and well equipped. The bed was a large and the duvet large enough for 2 people which isn't always the case. What stood out for me was the kindness of staff, warm, friendly, personable and helpful at any point of contact. Breakfast was delicious with additions that made it different from ' just a full English'. A very enjoyable stay, for a very reasonable price ,thank you very much !"
"Very comfortable room, nice clean bathroom. The walls are a bit thin though so we could hear other neighbours, although everyone was asleep at night so no problem to sleep at all. The location of the hotel is great, it is a bit out of the town, in the middle of the valley. The garden is amazing and you can walk to the well a bit far down and to the town itself. The breakfast was very generous and varied."
"Generally it was a nice stay, we loved the balcony and size of them room. There were gluten free options available for my partner which was great as she has celiac disease.
I must say that it does seem understaffed, we had a staff member come into our room to deliver room service and she seemed very stressed. People are human, people get stressed. However, it is not something I want to worry about while at a hotel and spa.
When my partner and I first approached the spa front desk, the staff were not very inviting. They appeared inconvenienced to speak us through the spa, pool, etc. This put us off going for spa treatments which is what we were planning to do on one of our days at the hotel.
The women’s changing rooms before entering the pool were dirty. There were hair, bits of grub and dirt I could feel on my feet while walking through the place were not pleasant.
The pool looks bigger in photographs, so something to bear in mind. It is relatively small.
My partner and I paid for some room service, 1 cheese board and a ham sandwich. This came to almost 30 pounds.
The cheeseboard had 4 crackers and 3 bits of cheese on, while the ham sandwich looked like two pieces of cheap white bread, and half a handful of ham.
I was very excited for this trip away for my partners birthday but I don’t think it will be worth the visit to come again, which is unfortunate because I really wanted to enjoy our first small holiday together.
Reception staff were great."
"I truly enjoyed my stay here, the ammenities were well kept and clean, the staff were very attentive and friendly, the spa facilities were great, the food was delicious and of course the views were breathtaking."
"We recently enjoyed a wonderful two‑night stay at the chapel, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The room was stunning, thoughtfully designed, immaculate, and full of charming touches that made it feel special. The entire property reflects the same level of care everywhere you look, you can see the effort that’s gone into creating a welcoming, high‑quality experience.
Breakfast was another highlight. Having it cooked to order not only avoids unnecessary waste, but it also means you’re served a meal that’s genuinely fresh and full of flavour. It’s such a simple change from the usual buffet style, yet it makes a world of difference.
We honestly couldn’t fault a thing. It was peaceful, comfortable, and beautifully run, a perfect little getaway.
Thanks again
Richard and Sam"
