"The toilet was so high up i couldn't do a sh*t. I'm six foot tall, but when I was sat on the toilet my feet were not touching the ground. Overall, the place was pretty bleak, e.g. no mirror in the bedroom to check my outfit, only one pillow so I got neck ache in bed, no towel rail or hooks anywhere in the bathroom so couldn't hang up a towel, no hook in the bedroom to hang up a coat, no toilet roll holder. "This is not your ordinary B & B, it’s more of an experience, an opportunity to stay somewhere quite unique , we just loved it. Perfectly located for St Andrews, and the surrounding beaches, we swam every day. Huge room, garden access, fridge and very friendly owner, happy to advise where to visit, I’m so glad he did, we would never have found Elie beach. The gorgeous dog was also a lovely surprise. I’d much prefer to stay somewhere so charming over your standard B&B any day."

"The staff was very attentive and courteous. The room was extremely comfortable, clean and well appointed with necessities. The location was ideal, right in the center of St. Andrews and down the street from the Old Course and shops. The food was delicious, the breakfast was inclusive with our stay. We also booked dinner and it was such a treat! The presentation, the intimate setting, and the food was delicious. We highly recommend the Haar for a place to stay and eat!"
