Sure, it's an older hotel but it's well-maintained, has large rooms, the beds were comfortable, casting onto the TV screen was easy, there was a restaurant onsite (not that we used it), lots of vending machines, free parking, the staff were helpful, near the airport and best of all, there was a shop freezer with ice cream products such as Magnums, Trumpets and so on. Would absolutely recommend this hotel."

Oakwood is my 'go to' for overnight stays in Auckland both for domestic trips though Auckland and foreign travel. The people make this business. A great team!"

Don't expect any amenities in your room, they are basic and in a communal area in the hall. But that is explained in the room described. "Overall, the property was a good value for the dollar. Would’ve rated it a bit higher except the new, revised airport shuttle service is terrible. They now partner with other hotels. The rides take longer and large groups of people arrive to register at once. The new shuttle service is truly a step downward."

When we got there, the spa bath is not working. The manager just said, none of the spa baths are working. Why advertise you have spa baths if they are not working? "Traveled 6hours and wanted a hot shower and to settle into bed for an early morning Departure. When we turned up, our room hadn't been vacuumed. We were given a room and had to run the shower for 10mins, for it to get warm. THEN we tried to settle in bed but people were being loud/swearing etc outside the room and a child was running up and down outside our door so we had to request a new room. "The location is very good, and the room is a good size. The beds were a bit small for a taller person. One bedroom backed onto the hallway and had a window looking out to it, which meant that there was a lot of light in the bedroom at night. Most of the room was quite clean, but the shower was very mouldy."
