"I really love this hotel. In Svalbard, there are a few places to stay and i think most would choose the large hotel. But I prefer Polfareren as its more personal to you and the staff get to know you during your stay. It makes it so much better. The room was spotless, the staff very friendly, and the restaurant next door (also Polfareren) is worth a visit for dinner. Breakfast (also in Polfareren restaurant) has a lot of options. The location is at the top of the high street (before Nybyen) so...
"This place is on the pricey side, but is by far the nicest hotel in Longyearbyen. The staff, the room, the food, and the hotel itself are all amazing. The included breakfast is excellent. The hotel itself is located on one of the highest locations in town, so there is a bit of an uphill climb back to the hotel after a day of exploring, but not an issue. Special thanks to Tina and Maiju at reception, and Daniel in the dining room for providing above and beyond amazing service."
