"Do not be sucked in by the pics! The “Garden Wing” was atrociously bad! Wallpaper peeling, door frames completely scuffed up, rug very badly stained, and musty/smoky odours. I checked for bed bugs the moment we got to the room because I felt that the conditions were so awful. We booked for one night at the end of a three-week holiday. We had experienced a wonderful vacation in Japan up until that point with the standard of cleanliness and service being top notch across all hotels and restaurants. But when they directed us to the room, there wasn’t any explanation that the area hadn’t been updated since 1974 or any apology. We should have been offered a discount!! When I complained to the manager the next day, she said that we were responsible for checking the hotel pics. What a joke. The pics do not show run-down hallways etc.
I was afraid to get in the elevator it was so unstable, and the wing would make for a great setting for a horror movie. Terribly disappointed that this was our final memory of Japan before flying home.
We arrived hungry at 9:15 . We were told after checking in at 9:25 that the restaurant took last orders at 9:30. We missed it. The inside Handy Mart was packed with frantic guests clearing the shelves of food. Room service also closed at 9:30! No other food options available within walking distance.
We won’t stay there again. BTW , there’s no “Art”."
