"The cottage is lovely and comfortable and well equipped for a family of 4. The small holding that it was on is located in a nice little village with a great pub a couple of doors away. The children loved having the alpacas close by and would go and visit them every morning. Beds were comfortable, the shower was nice and powerful. We would definitely stop again if we were visiting the local area. "

Cysgu Dda – Sleep Well

10/10 Excellent

"Room was clean , not big but just enough for a couple, with small fridge which is really small two 500ml bottles max. Tv with FireStick . For me the bed was just okay, wife had a really nice sleep on it. Staff really friendly and attentive. I'm not sure about these fingerprint locks on the room doors, looks modern and cool but it's a little flimsy and just adds extra time on your check in to register your prints, nothing major tho. Breakfast is good and plenty."

"Great hotel with air-condition (really appreciated that during the latest heatwave) and spotless clean room! The breakfast had a good selection of cooked food and continental options. I also appreciated that the bar was open until late to allow customers to watch England's game. It is worth noting though that the room has no fridge."

"What an amazing place. Absolutely stunning location and beautifully curated decor fitting the architectural style of the Georgian house. Parking is easy and on site with a fifteen minute walk down to the beautiful and very quiet beach. Breakfast was good quality and tasty and the host is friendly and helpful. Peaceful and beautiful place to spend some time."

"Couple of teething problems, swiftly dealt with by our host. Lovely setting, splendid Swedish hot tub and enough kitchen equipment to cook some quite complex meals. We visit the area quite regularly from Carmarthenshire, so that we can purchase lobster, mussels and spider crab (the Welsh Lobster Company) and fantastic fresh fish, scallops and cockles (the Fish Plaice), both on Milford Haven Fish Docks, about a 25 minute drive from the Little Retreat. We would visit again. Our rather elderly lab loved the freedom of pottering in the field prior to the heat of the day. Very comfy bed to boot! Thank you for making our stay comfortable and quite special, as it may be the last time we get to take Murphy on his holibobs."

"What a lovely find in Pembroke! John is a fantastic host with plenty of interesting stories, and the property has a wonderful family history that adds to its charm. He's thoughtfully modernised it to meet guests' needs, and our room was spacious, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The location is ideal, with several key attractions nearby, including the beautiful Barafundle Bay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return to this little gem. A big thank you to John and all the staff for making our visit so welcoming and enjoyable 😍"

"Found easy enough, good parking on site, didn't look that welcoming from outside, you definitely need a car to get around as only one pub in walking distance which done nice food but need to book. And a garage shop. Room was a nice size but dirty around the edges especially behind the bed, the shower was not very good it's for hair washing when sat in bath which is very big and takes to long to fill up. The staff which we seen were very friendly and helpful and breakfast was adequate."
