I booked my reservation well in advance, yet upon check-in I was assigned a disabled-access room. While I have the utmost respect for guests who require accessible accommodations, I do not have a disability and did not request such a room.
The room itself was clearly outdated, and the shower design—an open, curtain-style setup—caused water to spill throughout the bathroom, making it uncomfortable and inconvenient to use. This significantly detracted from the quality of my stay.
When I raised the issue at the front desk and requested a room change, I was told that no alternative rooms were available. I was also informed that because I booked through Expedia rather than directly with the hotel, my options were limited and that booking directly might have resulted in a better room assignment. This was particularly disappointing, as I made my reservation far in advance and expected standard accommodations consistent with the Courtyard by Marriott brand.
Additionally, the staff told me they were hosting a basketball team , which appeared to influence room availability and allocation. As a paying guest with a long-standing reservation, I expected a more thoughtful and equitable resolution.
I am sharing this feedback because I generally associate the Marriott name with consistency, comfort, and professionalism, and this experience fell short of those expectations. I would appreciate your review of this matter and a response regarding how this situation might be addressed.
