"The hotel was a small but lovely place. We had a room with a full size bed, we thought we were getting a queen, and a shared bathroom, that we were told was very nice bathroom. The shower was like a camoer shower, the way it was explained we wete under assumption it was a spa like bathroom. I understand most Colorado does not have Air conditioning, it was 85 degrees in the hotel at 8PM. Large steep flight of stairs to walk to the rooms wasn't pleasant for a handicapped person.
Nice place but won't be rooming there again."
"Wow - just WOW!! The Alma House Inn was excellent in all aspects. The owners are awesome, very helpful and friendly, and the Inn is beautiful, comfortable and historic. Our room was wonderful and the grounds of the Inn are so dang nice - the private shaded/landscaped courtyard makes you want to stay an extra day just to hang out, read a book, enjoy the hot tub (which we used), and a glass (or 3) of wine while sitting in the sofas at the fire pit (which we did). And the home made breakfast in the morning is really nice which we didn't even know about and loved."
"This is a really funky, quaint historic hotel. Great location, you can walk all over Silverton and to the shops and restaurants. My son and I stayed on our way through to our home in Northern Colorado. We were in the two bedroom room. The beds were super comfortable and we slept really well. Our main complaint was that we couldn't see in the bathroom, there was one little light by the mirror. There was another small wall light by the shower, but it had no bulb in it - so the shower was quite dark while showering!
This is a Colorado mountain town hotel. It is not luxurious by any means, but it is fun. It is in one of the most beautiful places, and does not even try to be pretentious, much like the town it sits in. I hope that never changes. There are plenty of other places to get that attitude in Colorado, just point to a map. I don't know if the Avon is open in the winter, but my son and I talked about returning then, it is my favorite time to be in Silverton. The Avon is good and definitely has the potential to be absolutely great. I will be returning!"
"What a gem this lodge was in downtown Silverton! It is obvious that the owners are vested in this property.
Well maintained and modern amenities. Walk in shower with top of the line Kohler fixtures. Nothing like a hot shower after a day of exploring the area.
The property has a fire pit and outdoor hot tub. The fixins’ for s’mores were right there in the room.
Will definitely stay again and highly recommend! Thank you for making our trip to Silverton extra special!"
"This was a great place to stay in Silverton! The staff was amazing! The place was very clean and cozy. The staff pays attention to details and it almost felt like staying at a friends house. Highly recommended for couples and families."
"The room was clean and nice. Loved the roomy shower! But we asked for more toilet paper and never got any, my husband had to leave and find a store to buy some at. Room was also very hot with no way to ventalate."
