"The staff and setting was exceptional at this absolute gem of an option in Kyoto . A short walk to a great train stop , Gion, and everything the city is known for . Every detail , from the rooftop bar , to rooms , to amentirs, onsens snd staff is exquisite. Phenomenal value for this quality . All the other guests raved also . "

"Stayed 2 nights to do the Nakasendo trail and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The entire place was spotless and the service was too notch. We were a bit hesitant on the shared bathrooms, however it was not a concern at all. The city of Nakatsugawa is a hidden gem and we enjoyed our stay here, can’t recommend it enough if you’re in the area! "

"This ryokan was beautiful with a spacious room and great mountain views. The onsen was particularly nice with indoor and outdoor mineral baths, a cold plunge, and a sauna. There was also a private shower in our room if you aren’t interested in the onsen experience. The half board was good but served traditional local Japanese food - great for the adventurous eater but it may not be for everyone. Though I found enough familiar things to feel full at dinner and breakfast. It was a special place, great for relaxation but probably not appropriate for children. We wished we had more days there to soak in the natural surroundings and just relax. "

"I've used this hotel many times for more than one week at a time, but they never greet me such as "Welcome back!" or "Thank you for using the hotel always." They are always too business like. I hope they are a bit more friendly. The hotel is very comfortable to stay though!"
