A beautiful hotel with some surprises

We recently stayed at Grand Hotel Dei Castelli in Sestri Levante, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The hotel boasts spacious and elegant rooms, and the breakfast buffet was satisfactory. However, there were a couple of unexpected surprises. First, despite what Hotels.com indicated, there was no pool on the hotel premises. Instead, guests had to pay €30 per person to use a private natural lagoon located some distance away. Unfortunately, this information wasn’t disclosed during the booking process, which left us feeling disappointed. Luckily the public beaches are AMAZING! Despite this, the hotel itself is charming, and the staff was friendly. If you’re looking for a charming getaway in Sestri Levante, Grand Hotel Dei Castelli is worth considering. Just be aware of the additional cost for the “pool”! 😉🏊‍♂️

A really fantastic 4 night stay - gorgeous location , amazing service from very helpful staff and beautiful food . Great local walks too . Highly recommended.

We paid 30 Euros per person to have access to a pool very decadent that should be included in the price - place is amazing and service and staff is not at all at the level required for this property - also rooms are extremely old and smell mold actually - really dissapomting

Det står at det er basseng. Det er det ikke! Kun en beach club som koster 40 EUR. Betjeningen var litt snerpete, men hyggelige. Savnet balkong evt mulighet til å sitte ute. Savnet mulighet til å lage kaffe på rommet. Bra beliggenhet og utsikt.

Romantisches Schlosshotel am Meer

Schönes Schlosshotel an der ligurischen Küste. Das Hotel liegt majestätisch über dem Ort Sestri Levante. Es führt ein Lift im Berg direkt zum Strand. Gratis Parkplatz, schönes großes Zimmer mit Balkon. Das Hotel ist einrichtungstechnisch nicht mehr ganz am Puls der Zeit. Das Frühstück ist wie immer in Italien leider nicht vergleichbar mit Mitteleuropa.

Empfang an der Rezeption gut. Es gibt schöne Terrassen leider ohne jeglichen Sevice. Frühstück absolut schlecht. Wenig Auswahl , schlechte Qualität der Fruchtsäfte. Eier etc. müssen extra bezahlt werden ab 10 Euro. Angebot insgesamt ungenügend für den Preis.

Verzorgd en netjes. Zeer ruime kamer en erg grote badkamer. Unieke locatie en gebouwen. Vriendelijk personeel. Individueel regelbare airco en goede WiFi. Kamers werden dagelijks zeer grondig gepoetst. Alle handdoeken werden telkens ververst, dat was wat overbodig. Het “zwembad” was een tegenvaller. In de rotsen uitgekapt, met zeewater wat er instroomt. Algen op de grond en glibberige trappen om in te gaan. Daarnaast veel vuil (alleen/mos) in het water. En dat voor 25€ per dag per persoon dat je er gaat. Heeft ons 75€ (3 personen) gekost om na een uur weer te vertrekken.

C’est un endroit tout simplement incroyable sur les hauteurs de Sestri Levante. Un fantastique château avec des chambres spacieuses et une très belle vue. Le petit déjeuner est correct même si le service est assez basique. Le bémol : la literie est beaucoup trop ferme.

The hotel is located at the top of a mountain overlooking Sestri Levante. Beside excellent views it also offers a private bay. During windy conditions the waves are too wild to swim in the open sea, but there is a shielded area with a small beach which can be accessed even during bad weather conditions. The staff is very friendly and helpful all around. Similar to the rest of the hotel, the restaurant offers a panoramic sea-view and superb food - although most of the menu is seafood-based, which can make it a little difficult for someone if not liking fish. Again, the staff is very friendly and forthcoming when it comes to serving special requests.
