The Leaf Foundation is one of the NGOs in the area which is set out to help elephants and the forrest. Elephants which have been used in tourism or on farms before can have a good life here. Right now they have five elephants. Those are "rented" which means the local families still own them. They get money from the LEAF Foundation for health care and basic needs. As a tourist you can book different tours there and see/touch these great elephants. With booking a tour you support the local community as well.

I would not return here or recommend it. We had 3 nights booked but didn’t use the 2nd night as we were in the jungle (we only stored some luggage). The cleaning person didn’t give new towels or clean our bathroom, empty trash etc. while we were gone. The pool was not functioning and there are no ...
