"The staff were so friendly and kind to our dog as well. We normally stop in the area on the way down to Portugal which we visit frequently. We will definitely be staying again. Good walks from the hotel along the river and very central location so access to facilities, restaurants etc. Free parking too."

"It was a cute little apartment. Type unit was a huge balcony overlooking the river, which was beautiful. Had a very well kept kitchenette, a little living room area, bedroom, and bathroom. It was well decorated and a very pleasant surprise. I would definitely return"

"Very helpful and friendly staff. Clean room, good mattress, very nice terrace, and great breakfast. Only complaint is that the air conditioning was either all on or all off. Temperature setting did not seem to work."

"We were upgraded to a corner room with an oversized balcony looking out over the pool to the river. Spacious room, quiet, plenty of shelf and drawer space. The staff were amazing, Portuguese-friendly. Breakfast was very nice, with lots of hot and cold options including an omelet station. Location was very walkable to the Old Town, and also to the opposite side of the river and the Santa Clara monastery, plus walkways on both sides of the river."

"What a fantastic hotel! Central and easy to reach the castle and town. The receptionist, Fatima, was wonderful, and we had access to our room, two hours early. Fatima was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and bright, and immaculately clean. The bed was large and comfortable and the TV in a good position to watch from bed. "Quinta das Lágrimas has such an important and interesting place in Portuguese history, which we enjoyed learning about during our stay. The old house and surrounding gardens are beautiful and romantic, even in the winter. Our room was in the spa wing, and it was large and comfortable, but the “Queen” bed was actually two twins pushed together (which is common in Europe), the shower flooded easily, and the bathroom door was extremely difficult to lock and unlock.
