Intelligence without ambition is a bird without wings.
Salvador Dali

Interestingly enough, there were birds that existed without wings: The Moa which you can read more about here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moa

And, a great many birds are flightless birds. Here is the Wikipedia page:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flightless_bird

And a top ten list from smashing lists:

http://www.smashinglists.com/top-10-flightless-birds-still-present-today/

These, of course, are not wings but feathers quite possibly from the wing of a seagull. At the time of this photograph, the World Cup of Rugby was being played in the UK. So, I put these feathers in the sand to resemble goal posts.

Why? Well, I am the embodiment of intelligence without ambition, or lack of intelligence without ambition In any event, certainly without ambition. And, in no way do I feel ashamed of this. I could spend everyday wandering the beaches of this world in a bliss of a wandering imagination because I am a child who never grew up still curious about this universe and what it has to offer.

Saundersfoot is a fishing village located in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Positioned at the foot of a picturesque wooded valley, it offers unspoilt nature alongside quirky, independent boutiques, bars and restaurants.

Shopping in Saundersfoot

This lovely medieval village, although small, caters for a wide range of tastes. If antique and vintage boutiques are what you’re after, head into the narrow, cobbled streets and delight in the array of independent shops on offer.

Saundersfoot town centre is easy to walk around, making it ideal for a stress-free day of retail therapy. If you start to get tired, head into one of the many ice cream parlours or coffee shops around The Strand, which leads down to the main beach.

Nature in Saundersfoot

Pembrokeshire National Park, in which Saundersfoot is nestled, boasts more Seaside Award and Blue Flag beaches than any other place in the UK. Pembrokeshire is one of the most beautiful parts of Wales and there is a wealth of beaches, parks and forests to explore.

Enter Saundersfoot Main Beach from The Strand and take in astonishing views across the bay towards the Gower peninsula. Here you will find miles of glistening sand that can be enjoyed by the whole family.

Coppet Hall Beach, which joins the main beach by a row large pebbles at the tide line, is ideal for couples or those looking for a quieter, more peaceful spot.

Glen Beach is a short walk further along the coast and can be reached easily via the harbour. Sheltered by a spectacular backdrop of wooded cliffs, Glen Beach is a must-see, whether you are travelling alone, as a couple or with the family.

Restaurants in Saundersfoot

Saundersfoot has a wide variety of delightful restaurants, bistros and bars to suit any price range.

Head up to the cliff above the harbour for some of the best food and views you can find. During the summer months, dine alfresco and watch the sun set over the Irish Sea.

Down in the town centre, there are a range of excellent restaurants positioned along The Strand, as well as family-run eateries by the marina.

Enjoy fine Pembrokeshire cuisine with views across Carmarthen Bay at one of the restaurants on the edge of the main beach.

With four excellent beaches, Saundersfoot offers a range of watersport activities, including water skiing, pleasure boating and kayaking.

The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is on your doorstep, offering opportunities for hiking, bike riding and wildlife watching within 243 square miles of luscious Welsh countryside.

The colourful, medieval town of Tenby is only 3 miles south of Saundersfoot. From here you can hire a boat and explore the many caves found around the mainland and neighbouring islands. Go to Tenby’s Castle Beach at low tide and walk out to St. Catherine’s Island to explore the many rockpools that form around the cliffs.
