Room was ok. Check-in staff was atrocious.
I drove 3 hours through a blizzard to get there. I stopped outside under the canopy after already doing the online check in process. I should have been able to just get the key and go to the room.
Instead the person behind the desk, who looked like he belonged to some street gang, started the process again. At the same time my 11 yr old was locked in the truck and another truck behind me was calling the front desk complaining that I was checking in. The desk clerk told me to go park somewhere else without telling me where the parking was. I had to ask, to which he pointed in a general direction.
I came back inside with my daughter where he finally gave me the key then stared at me. I was waiting for directions. When I asked where to go he was annoyed and kept staring at my 11 yr old daughter.
I've checked into a lot of hotels over my lifetime and never have I been made to feel so uncomfortable. The desk guy was unfriendly, never smiled, barely spoke and was absent of all typical customer service skills. It felt like I had walked onto the set of a horror movie where the real desk clerk is tied up and bound, hidden out of sight while the movie villain tries to pretend they're the clerk to avoid suspicion.
I will never set foot at this location again. I was made to feel my very existence at the hotel was a big inconvenience to everyone. The Super 8 in Regina was a great experience and the reason why booked this one. Never ever again.
