The annual burning of Zozobra (Old Man Gloom) is a lively Santa Fe tradition that includes live music and fireworks along with setting fire to a large paper marionette filled with scrawlings of all the bad that people wish to leave behind.

A short walk up on a paved path will lead you to this Monument in Santa Fe, NM. There are great views of the Sangre de Cristos and the City of Santa Fe from this vantage point. Great for sunrise or sunset shots. The walk is only about 10-15 minutes. :) History: The monument of the Cross of the Martyrs was built to honor the Franciscan friars who died during the Pueblo Revolt in 1680.
