"Highly recommend The Retreat hotel! It was gorgeous and the views breath taking. The staff was very attentive and kind. Will definitely go again. The tours were over priced though. ~400 per tour and while the locations were beautiful it was not worth that much money. Also note there is no food you can buy except for in the restaurants there. So grab some snack at the airport. But highly recommend this place. Even in the rainy season it was amazing "

"AMAZINGLY customer service oriented. Bereníce, staff, SO attentive, kind & thorough. Prior to arrival, resort administrator engaged to make personalized arrangements. Wifi steady & stable. Jacuzzi a plus. For arrival, standard vehicle OK (albeit slow w potholes with some portions being unpaved roads), but 4x4 might be helpful. Highly recommend to get away from it all to chill. I travel a lot, and I would go back. "

"Oh my gosh, this place is absolutely breathtaking! Sitting under the covered patio during the afternoon showers was so relaxing. We saw over 40 species of birds on the property. Welcome to Rio Tarcoles, where tourists stop to view these ancient dinosaurs. I've heard a few stories about this place, one being that locals sometimes toss live chickens off the bridge to put on a "show". I also read somewhere that a drunk man was bet $20 to swim across the river...and he did, but didn't quite make it. If you are at all amazed by crocodiles, this place is crazy cool. I've been here a couple of times and still get excited by the number of crocs there are. Once in awhile you'll see a stork slowly walk up to a croc, almost as if he's doing a dare, and the croc will slowly swim towards him. You get your camera ready waiting for something to go down.
