Yes there were many shops in this area. No we fid not ho to the National Parks, but we did go to the Fort.

The place is very well located, clean and really cute. Be aware there is not parking available but I was aware of that with a good anticipation and didnā€™t bring any car with me to the Old San Juan, this is not in particular with this property, is something related with the entire city. But a good walk around makes you feel that you donā€™t need a car at all. The location is a plus, close to too many things but Old San Juan is actually a small place, easy to access from any space center to the Plaza Colon. We liked it a lot.

The room was very clean and the location was perfect. It was in the center of everything, which allowed us to enjoy the wonderful culture in Old San Juan. The staff was extremely helpful and replied promptly. The bed was comfortable and the treats provided were a thoughtful surprise. We will definitely stay again.

Loved the room we stayed in. Was close to everything and best part was the balcony, being able to take in the night life of Old San Juan was priceless. Todo queda muy cerca y si lo que quieres es conocer el viejo San Juan estĆ” es tu mejor opciĆ³n. , no necesitas carro para nada porque todo queda muy cerca , desde que llegas te encuentras con galletas de regalo y la hospitalidad fue increĆ­ble , hay muchos restaurantes cerca , los lugares mĆ”s importante te quedan a 5o 10 minutos mĆ”ximos , cuenta con todo lo que necesitas cĆ³mo toallas , secadora de pelo , plancha para la ropa , todo lo que no puedes traer en el aviĆ³n , yo le doy la mĆ”xima calificaciĆ³n , por mi experiencia, resĆ©rvela y experimentelo usted mismo ( consejo si buscas privacidad y solo quieres la casa para dormir escoge una habita aviĆ³n en interior si te gusta los amaneceres con el sol te recomiendo el que tiene balcĆ³n

Our stay was amazing! The apt was clean and well maintained. So close to all the bars and restaurants! Sofias had amazing food and the brick house staff were very knowledgeable of the area. Offering plenty of must sees! Communication was on point when needed. They accommodated an early check in as to not have to lug our luggage around San Juan for several hours. This was greatly appreciated! Will be staying again for sure!

Right in the heart of OSJ, literally three blocks from the port moorings for cruisers. Nice hiatus for a night or two. We missed the ability to cook anything (not a pan in the pantry). Irrregular Wi-Fi, no electric for our last four hours, but there are some wonderful local dining within a block or three and endless people-watching from the wee balcony.

Spacious and central, right in the middle of the action in San Juan. The place is large, with a little kitchenette equipped with a fridge, a toaster, a microwave, a kettle and a few other bits but no hobs. The place was quite clean but not fully. The balcony is huge and a nice touch. There are a few things that made the stay uncomfortable. The elevator was broken, so I had to carry my suitcase up alone around 4-5 flights of stairs. I don't recommend the stairs for everyone, as they are quite steep. I didn't mind the exercise but with a suitcase it was really uncomfortable, especially when there is no A/C (there is A/C in the rooms though). The bathroom has quite a precarious step right outside of it, which one could easily trip over. As others have mentioned, the lights in the bathroom turn off something like every 30 seconds. I thought I wouldn't mind this when showering but the sensor is not very sensitive in picking up on movement so it's quite annoying. The host seemed very nice when I spoke to her (my key was in the wrong lock box when I arrived) but she answered straight away. She doesn't speak English, just as a consideration. I didn't hear anything else over 3 days except a request for a review, but I think she would have helped if anything was wrong. Overall it was OK. Pros were that it felt secure, the A/C worked, it was huge + it was in a perfect location. The cons were the broken elevator, that it wasn't super clean/a bit run down and some illogical design.

Marly and her father Mr. J.R. were incredibly hospitable and had my room ready earlier than expected, which allowed me to rest after travel. The room is a large suite with a kitchen (free snacks!) and balcony view to the Old San Juan colonial district. Wifi and Tv is included, as well as a comfortable a/c. The best thing is its central location in Viejo San Juan so I was able to walk everywhere--I only needed an Uber for the airport and for el Choli to see Bad Bunny. Check out is done on your own with a coded keypad.

Commutation was important as all of Puerto Rico lost power. The owners did a great job keeping in touch. The apartment was terrific and we were happy to have snacks supplied as food was difficult to get with the power outage. Loved the balcony and being in the heart of old San Juan. Thanks. Nancy T

It's an historical building in a historic area, its not going to be a modern hotel. It looks old and feels old...stairs are steep and elevator shakes. But it is an awesome properry with lots of.character. ā¤ļø. Thoughtful amenities and a very comfy bed. One thing... there is no hot water service in the kitchen or bathroom sinks. Shower is served by a inline heater. Not the hottest, but good enough. Views from balcony are priceless. Parking can be tricky if you're driving.

310Guest-House LaVida in Old San Juan is an older building (like ALL of Old San Juan) and, as such, is not well insulated for sound from the often-busy street below. We had a balcony unit so two large doors lead outside to a small balcony. Two windows (above the balcony doors with no curtain or shade) let you know when it's daytime. With no reception desk, the property is accessed using a lockbox system with the combination provided prior to check-in. There isn't a regular cleaning service, but our friendly and accommodating hostess was responsive to text messages when we needed fresh towels and toiletries. The unit has a well-equipped kitchenette with fridge/freezer, microwave, dinnerware, coffee maker, etc. Overall, it was a very nice experience.
