We loved it! The location couldn't have been better. San Gimignano is a walled city, with parking lots outside the city. Our location was an easy walk to the lots, and a very easy stroll throughout the city. The room was comfortable and had an amazing view from the terrace in the back. The staff were so helpful to us and it was appreciated since we were on our first trip to Italy.

Hotel and room are good for one or two nice day. Balcony room had a nice view.. My only negative and caution is regarding the on-site restaurant. Although, in it by itself, it could be considered a decent restaurant, but considering all the really excellent restaurants around it’s quite subpar for this town. With a group of 11 persons that have been traveling in Italy for a week the l general consensus was that the restaurant was OK, but nothing memorable or exceptional. And that situations could be normally fine, but the problem is that eating the Cisterna restaurant results in missing out on an excellent meal at one of a dozen restaurants within five minute walk. In summary, a stay at the hotel is nice but I would avoid the restaurant unless you just need to fill your stomach quickly
