I recommend staying at Carte, it is a clean and modern hotel close to Little Italy and harbor area. Many dining options close and it is quiet. I have stayed at several hotels in downtown SD and this is my favorite!

Bad - bedside night lamps were broken, the house keeping missed a day, when asked for a toilet paper, the house keeping rejected saying there are no more toilet papers. Phones are old and they don’t go through. Good - The reception desk were helpful and cheerful, valet service was great and the canvas cafe service was good as well.

When we booked, we stayed during the rock and roll marathon and the finish line was very close to the hotel. The restaurant downstairs was super busy the morning of the marathon but overall they did a good job

My girlfriend and I stayed in the Carte Hotel for 1 night to celebrate her birthday at the Seneca Restaurant. We had the amazing pleasure to be helped by Desiree at the front desk who made our stay nothing short of amazing and made us both feel special by surprising us with Celebratory Room Service and greeted us with a huge smile and continued to ask how the birthday celebration was, provided suggestions for parking, and wished a big loud Happy Birthday. We found great comfort in our stay with the very clean environment and felt safe and taken care of. We loved the staff especially Desiree at the front desk, cleanliness, and pool/gym options and will definitely be back to the Carte Hotel soon!

From the time I arrived I was grateful the receptionist allowed me to check in early. I was super early however, Layla was understanding and accommodating. My room was very spacious and clean. Room temperature was pleasant, hot water was nice, the view was immaculate. The rooftop view was everything. Jeff was my bartender and he was such a sweet, respectful young man. I will definitely stay at Carte again when back in San Diego.

Early check-in was quick and easy. Hotel was clean, area was quiet at night and safe to walk. Variety of different restaurants in little Italy. Hotel is quiet at night as well. It was an amazing stay.

One of the Best Hilton Hotel’s

I had a fantastic stay at Carte Hotel San Diego. The property was exceptionally clean and modern, with a sleek design and well-maintained amenities. The staff was courteous, professional, and always ready to assist. The rooftop pool and bar offer stunning views of the city, and the location is perfect—just a short walk to Little Italy, dining spots, and waterfront areas. The atmosphere was both relaxing and upscale. Highly recommended for both business and leisure travelers.

Great location and friendly, accommodating staff. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The water station was out of order on the 7th floor which was inconvenient but the staff provided extra water.
