The price was good for what was offered. And the staff was very helpful and friendly.
Room was clean. Basic amenities included. Television which I didn't use. Microwave. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Plenty of hot water for showering. Area around room quite. We were able to have a good night's sleep. No coffee available at the main entrance.Check-in was efficient. Attendant was polite/cordial maybe even a bit Smarmy. Then again hotel what's very decent for a reasonable price. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone on a budget that's looking for a good night's sleep.
Great rate just a lot of things that aren’t mentioned before checking in like the 100$ deposit (That I’m sure I’m not gonna get back) paid for towels we used to dry off but apparently were damaged after use though one was used to clean off make up which I understand for paying for. People kept knocking on our door along with the construction in the room over. Weren’t able to check in early but when it was time our room wasn’t even prepared along with a whole ahh foot print on our bed sheets. If you get a small towel that slightly stained from makeup still in use I apologize but they reused it and willing to bet they did. I didn’t cause much of a commotion then I should’ve had in the matter but after paying for “damaged” towels after using them to dry off like a towel should be used for and eating the price of it due another option being checking out on the spot and I didn’t have money for another hotel until a relative helped get me out to a new one (Thanks, Mom) the front desk staff was also a bit unprofessional as he was always on his phone and looked annoyed when trying to help me out. Going back to the towels my friends and I went out and came back to our room being partly cleaned (Mostly due to our luggage being everywhere due to getting ready for the concert ) and when being told about the towels not only did they not replace them in our room they picked out the most “damaged” things and took a pictures in detail. House keepers were nice tho but ain't coming back
It’s zero star! TERRIBLE PLACE!
We stayed at The Metropolitan Inn in Salt Lake City, Utah, and it was absolutely terrible. Honestly, it was one of the worst places we’ve ever seen.
The room was extremely dirty and run-down. The bathroom sink was clogged, and there was a bunch of hair coming up from the drain, which was really disgusting. The door was broken, and almost every corner of the room and doors were dirty and damaged. The bedsheets had stains and clearly weren’t clean.
The overall property was just as bad. The entrance and surrounding area were dirty and full of very odd and stranp people, and it definitely did not feel safe or family-friendly at all.
We checked in, went to the room, and within 30 minutes decided to leave because it was completely unacceptable. Honestly, sleeping in the car would have been better than staying there.
Would not recommend this place to anyone.
One star for comfy beds, otherwise very dirty rooms (carpet and walls with numerous stains amd holes), bathroom paint peeling and cracked toilet seat. Fridge was broken and ironing board didn't have a cover. Very small bath towels. Our room also had a lingering smoke smell. Motel appeared to have long term tenants wbo frequently should to each other across the complex.

Overall, the Metropolitan Inn was... OK. It was reasonably clean and it looked like they were trying, but...
Pluses:
- The room was clean, no doubt about it. The linens all smelled faintly of bleach, so they were doing their washing well.
- Water pressure was good, and I never seemed to run out of hot water.
- Location wasn't bad at all. Right in the heart of the city.
- Service was good. I lost my key card at one point and they issued me a new one without any hassles. The card turned up in my car so all was doubly good.
Minuses:
- The pictures on the Expedia site and on their own site do NOT reflect the rooms. At least not my room.
- There was one quad power outlet in the room outside of the bathroom, and it was not next to the bed. Made phone charging while using it as an alarm clock a challenge.
- The A/C was rather loud and there was a lot of light from the bathroom window (I had to close the door) making it harder to sleep.
- There was no breakfast. Fortunately, Little America was across West Temple and had a nice coffee shop.
- I stayed four nights and only had maid service for the room once, sometime during the day on Friday. Not a big deal, but...
Overall:
As part of my travel package, it was very affordable. The mattress on the bed was good and comfortable, and it looked like they were working to renovate rooms, but I'm disappointed that their marketing oversells the place.

The room was next to the ice machine so there was constant noise, and only 1 stairwell, not very accessible for people with a mobility issue. The rooms AC was also constantly making noise even when turned off, almost sounded like something was shorting behind the outlets!!
The manager of this place is absolutely horrible! He is so disrespectful and mean! I'm actually a really nice guy and was as nice as I could be for days but he is the meanest man I have ever met in my life! If you are reading this review don't ever go here find another place because this man will drive you nuts and I pray for his soul
The cleaning staff was very good. the desk staff was horrible, the web site does not tell you about a $100.00 deposit and the check out clerk argued about giving it back. Not an enjoyable stay.
I didn't expect much for the rate but this is by far the worst hotel I've stayed in. The property itself is in less than desirable condition. When I got into my room there was a woman's eyelash left on the floor, which led me to believe the room wasn't cleaned properly. I always keep sanitizing wipes in my pack and I immediately started wiping things down. I used several wipes and all of them had dirt/grime on them after use. Only until a wipe stayed clean did I stop cleaning. The shower was still wet, which I can assume was from them cleaning, however due to the condition of the rest of the room I did not use it. Thankfully there were no bed bugs. There's no outlets next to the bed, I used their extension cord they had for the TV. The microwave, fridge, coffee maker, and TV were plugged into the same outlet. 2 out of 3 lights in the room worked. The plugin in the bathroom worked but only if whatever was plugged in was held a certain way.
Pros: friendly staff, free parking, bed/pillows were comfortable, curtains kept majority of light out from outside.
Cigarette burns on the sheets, smelled like cigarettes on a non-smoking property. Tub was clogged FULL OF HAIR. Beds were extremely crusty that we slept on the couch. The carpet was full of dust and dirt. The walls were sticky and dirty. The door does not LOCK! The floor look like it was about to fall apart with dips and holes under the carpet. The ceiling had lots of water damage! Do not stay here!
