The motel gave me an initial room that was in complete disrepair and unihabitable. When they assigned another room, the new room reeked of cigarette smoke. The bedding had holes in them from ashes and the flooring was warped in certain spots, not to mention very dirty throughout the room. I immediately went to the front desk and requested a refund from the hotel due to these reasons and to the extremely poor conditions oof the hotel and my asthma that would prevent me from staying in a smoke congested room. Hotel reception told me to call Expedia for a refund that they would authorize. When I called Expedia for the refund, they stated they would call the hotel for the authorization for a refund. Of course this process took days. Expedia told me that the hotel denied my request for a refund because I failed to submit a complaint when all I did when I got there was complain. Expedia upheld their denial and didn’t authorize my refund request despite multiple communication efforts with them and the hotel. In short, I requested a charge back from my bank and credit card for this booking. I will not be using Expedia anymore.
