When we arrived, the gentleman who checked us in was very cold and unwelcoming. He simply stood behind an iPad to process our check-in with no real interaction or effort to make us feel welcome.
When we were given our room information, the mobile app required to open the door would not work. I went back down to explain the issue, and he dismissed it by saying I was holding my phone incorrectly. After trying again with no success, my mother had to call reception. Someone finally arrived with manual key cards, this whole thing took about 20 minutes, standing outside our room with our luggage. After a seven-hour drive, this was extremely frustrating and not the experience we expected.
The room itself was very clean and comfortable. Small details like handles on the cabinets and drawers would have been appreciated, but overall the room was fine.
The following evening, when we returned after being out all day, a different receptionist was working. She was much more welcoming and pleasant. Unfortunately, our key cards once again did not work. We tried calling reception with no answer. I had to go downstairs to look for assistance, but no one was there. Shortly after, my mother called to say the receptionist had just gone upstairs to deliver towels we had requested.
Between the lack of available staff and the unreliable door-entry system, the experience became far too inconvenient. For these reasons, we would not choose to stay there again.
