Absolutely charming

The name of the hotel in English is "The Old Rectory". As such it is full of charm. The room we had was particularly charming as it was in the old bake house at the back of the hotel. The staff could not have been nicer. Breakfast was superb. Also of note is that the adjoining restaurant is worth a visit in its own right.

Convenient for road trip/travel

Nice hotel, but no food available in the evening when I arrived so had to drive to the village and food is not of good quality or the town has no high quality or atmospheric restaurants. But aside from that, the hotel and room itself was spotless and the staff very friendly and accommodation very good.

Goed uitziend hotel buiten het stad

Hotel was goed met vriendelijk personeel ,parking was een probleem omdat parkeerplats is klein en dus heel snel vol ,geen restaurant ( op ontbijt na) en de restaurant naast was prijzig ,ten minuten rijden naar Saarluis centrum met meer keuz in restaurants ,kamer was goed ,tv was slecht beeld ,

Ganz gut - aber Verbesserungsbedarf

Preis und Leistung sind nicht mehr auf der Höhe der Zeit. Mini alter TV und doch in die Jahre gekommene Zimmer sind für 60,- Euro ok aber nicht für über 80 Euro. Sehr netter Empfang und freundlicher Service.

Gutes Hotel mit Schwächen in der Kommunikation

Das Hotel ist in einem schönen Stil gehalten und in einer ruhigen Umgebung neben einem tollen Restaurant. Das Frühstück war gut. Leider waren keine Handtücher auf dem Zimmer, so dass ich diese bei der Rezeption anfragen musste. Zudem gab es Kommunikationsschwierigkeiten bei der Rechnungsstellung, da hier verschiedene Abzüge für das Frühstück im Gespräch waren (letztlich wurden 10 statt 5 Euro abgezogen). Alles in allem sind mein Kollege, der ein anderes Einzelzimmer bezog und ich zufrieden, jedoch könnte die Heizungsanlage modernisiert werden.

Clean and comfortable. Beautiful gardens surrounding the hotel restaurant. Great breakfast. The staff went out of their way to help arrange tickets for a concert I wanted to attend in Cologne. Phillipe called our hotel in Cologne and sent an email to ensure that the tickets would be ordered and they were waiting for us when we arrived 5 stars

Incredible stay

The building is beautiful, in a quiet neighborhood close to the freeway. The room was cute, with a nice bed and everything needed for a shorter stay. What struck me was the kindness of the staff, who was welcoming and eager to fulfill any needs. The breakfast is amazing, with plenty of choices and tasty food. Would highly recommend!

Das Hotel liegt unweit der Stadt, die fussläufig gut erreichbar ist. Freundliches Personal, das Frühstück war ausreichend. Zimmerreinigung erfolgt täglich.Hier kann man sich gut erholen.

Quiet and peaceful

Very quaint house about 250 years old. The room is relatively spacious. Bathroom was very clean and spacious. Bed very comfortable. The room was quiet and peaceful. Staff were very attentive. They even ironed my shirt for me at a moment's notice. The food at breakfast was very good. Eggs well cooked. Bacon relatively crisp. Coffee good. Next door to a very good German restaurant. Highly recommended. I will likely return to Saarlouis for business and will definitely stay here again.

Lovely place,very pretty, olde worlde style hotel. Nice staff, nice breakfast. Only reason I didn't give it straight 5s was that the annex in which I stayed, had poor WiFi.
