"The hotel was hard to find despite being in the Main Street in Golling. This was due to it being renovated and partially hidden by this. Entrance to car park is via a narrow passage through the building to the back which was a bit tight both the passage and the car park. Parts of the hotel that have been renovated are good but more needs to be done professionally. Once the reception was found the staff were helpful. "Extremely hot during visit and hotel has no air con. Therefore difficult to sleep as did not cool down at all. The hotel is on a main road just off the motorway. It’s 20km from berchtesgaden and the Eagles Nest. It has no real amenities close by except supermarkets and a gas station. We ate in Berchtesgaden as it had life and better option. The hotel is ok for an overnight stay."

"We were very pleased with our overnight stay here. It was just one night so we chose a family room for the four of us, including our two young adult children. The room was exactly as pictured except even more comfortable than expected! The balcony wrapped around two sides with stunning views. We enjoyed the convenience of the little beer garden restaurant right next-door. It was very convenient to get to Bertchesgaten for our morning tour."

"My husband and 2 daughters stayed for 7 nights at the Gastof Eiserne Hand while visiting the area to ski and watch the Free Ride World Tour event. They had the most amazing hospitality from Markus and Micel and stated "it was the best place we have ever stayed". The beds were comfortable, the location beautiful, the breakfast delicous and the after dinner schnaps very much enjoyed. "Super Hotel für die Durchreise. Wunderschöne Dachterrasse, leider musste der Whirlpool geschlossen werden. Wer lärmempfindlich ist, nimmt ein etwas teureres Zimmer zur Rückseite."
