The breakfast is really nice and the property overlooks great views of Galle lighthouse. PickMe offers cheap Tuk Tuks/taxis to unawatuna/ galle. Overall had a great stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend! "

"We had a great stay here and treated our Sri Lankan family. The chef and kitchen and service was phenomenal and the rooms were great. Lot of room. Ensure to enter the number of people you plan to have with you while booking, otherwise you might get surprising surcharges. "The staff here are very helpful and kind. The property does not have a restaurant. The rooms smell of damp as do pillows and mattress. I asked for a blanket and got a bedsheet!! I had to ask for a mosquito net. Over priced for a tired hotel. Near the beach but no views only grotty tin roofs and a huge dirty wall of the hotel next door that blocks out any light. Internet is bad and they have power cuts all the time. Disappointing. "

"There are 3 hotels in the Somerset group. This is away from the beach. Its up a very steep narrow concrete road. Its dark in the night and only 1 vehicle can go up or down this dark narrow road. The hotel staff are really nice. The rooms are a bit dated. The breakfast buffet was a joke as compared to hotels we have stayed in colombo. There was no buffet. Just a plate of fruit and eggs if you asked. Better stay is closer to the beach and somerset has a hotel right on tne beach"
