"Pet-friendly BUT you need to know that the guesthouse is just a small part of a large caravan and camping site. There’s also a field of horses. Guesthouse clients with dogs are only allowed in rooms accessible from the outside; we weren’t allowed inside the building. So my room opened directly onto the access road, with all the mud and noise that comes from all the traffic, walkers, and horses that passed in front of the door and small window. "Good location in beautiful scenery not far from some walks. On a main road but it was completely silent at night. Suite was lovely and bigger than expected, with beautiful views, and a very modern bathroom with a fab shower. The bed did have a weird slope to it though which put our feet higher than our heads! Food in the pub at dinner time was expensive and average, although breakfast was plentiful and good quality. Enjoyed our stay very much. "

"I really enjoyed my one night stay at Y Pengwern. The bar was friendly when we checked in, and when I was shown my room was amazed at how big it was. I was backpacking and there was plenty of room to reorganise my kit, and the bed was large and very comfortable. After a long day's walk we were looking forward to food, and were very happy with the big hearty meals we had in the restaurant. "We had a lovely stay here, the property is close to restaurants, pubs and shops. Unfortunately, we noticed damp patches in the kitchen and the living room and a bit of mold in the bathroom around the bath. The rooms are spacious, however, the extremely steep steps from the top floor to the first floor had to be cautiously approached in the dark during bathroom visits. The games were great additions and they created joy, fun and social interactions. We had no problem with finding free parking...

"Great location and view. Major damp and mould in property, bedroom smell was so strong it was quite frankly foul. Thank good we only booked for two nights. No back ground or mechancial ventilation, not sure who did last refurbishment but fundamentally design failure. Mould on tiles, window reveals in bathroom. Bed was very poor mattress gone in middle, horrible foam topper with very poor covering. Extremely uncomfortable. Very strong odours in lounge. Food crumbs under sofa cushions. Parking...
