This was in a great location for exploring Iceland. The room was very clean and loved the kitchen area to make meals. Only downside is the shared bathroom but we had no issues! Nice to talk to other people in the house but most people were out exploring majority of the day.
Clean and convenient location. Other guests were quiet and nice!

Our room was very small. There’s a good size kitchen if you want to cook dinner or breakfast quite a few bathrooms, fairly clean. Did not see any staff so I can’t comment on that.
I loved this location so much that I ended up booking another night near the end of my trip. It’s located very close to two popular waterfalls and a lovely cafe. The views are gorgeous (ocean from the front, green mountains out the back). There were several bathrooms that were clean and well stocked. I didn’t use the kitchen but it also seemed well stocked. The beds were comfy as well. I would definitely recommend staying here!
Enjoyed our stay , it is really beautifully located and well maintained. There are cute sheep you can feed and pet that my son enjoyed looking at. Its super close to big attractions like skogafoss and Dyrholaey Beach. There is a restaurant right across the street that is incredibly convenient. Beds were not that comfortable but overall a great stay.
Clean but small room (which is to expect) had everything we needed to sleep and cook dinner/breakfast. No soap in shower however, but lots of hot water!
Liked the property and location. Check in easy, thank you. The room was very small, mostly the bunk bed. Not a problem in itself but it could be helpful to have a smaller chest to give a bit more room to those with two pieces of luggage.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
South Iceland Guesthouse was about 30 minutes from Vik. There are 7 rooms and about 14 people , a very nice big kitchen and 3 bathrooms,
1 bathroom had a burned out light, but even with two, we never had to wait.
Our room was really small. It had 2 twin bunk beds and it was hard for 2 people to move around at the same time. However there is a large shared sitting area. Overall, we quite liked it, except for the size of the room.
My partner and I stayed here for one evening. It’s comfortable and convenient for travellers passing thru. It’s a good place for solo travellers and partners. Easy to find, this one almost had a bit of a hostel vibe to it. We had bunk beds. There is a communal kitchen where you can cook, a fridge where you can store your food. Shared bathrooms but there are multiple, all clean. The property is well maintained and though there wasn’t any staff to greet us, they gave us easy instructions for our check in. The area is beautiful and there is also a restaurant across the street which was convenient, cute and full of history. Thank you for the great and easy stay!
Great location for getting to Vik, black sand beaches, beautiful
Waterfalls plus more. We only stopped for a night so didn’t really use the kitchen but would be a great option if you wanted to cook your own food. Shared bathrooms were not an issue. Rated a 4 as there was no hot water so that meant no shower (fine for one night but not sure about longer) but had been emailed ahead of time and never did see any ‘caretaker’who was to have been there when we arrived but room was set up so all worked fine. You do get some road noise as right on the main highway.
Our room was clean and large. Kitchen/dining area was large with all the essentials. The view from the house was great also. My family really enjoyed the stay.
Friendly staff, good room, bathing and kitchen facilities are great. The close by and associated restaurant Gamla Flosid offers good food and service. I have no complaints and recommend South Iceland Guesthouse.
