I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel for so many reasons. We live it so much that 4 days later we returned to this hotel again! I also will not even consider another place when returning back to Costa Rica. Kenneth at the front desk BOTH times was so pleasant and made the experience just perfect. What an employee just added to the awesome memorable time we had ! I hope whosever reads this review truly considers this establishment as it was one of the best on all my travels around the world! Thank you for an amazing stay and we will see you again!

Beautiful landscape, lots of wildlife (monkeys & iguanas), air conditioned big rooms and 3 pools. Felt like a resort it’s ok that there was no TV in the room because there’s usually only Spanish speaking shows (and we don’t know that much Spanish, however having a refrigerator in the room. I missed looking for that when I booked.

Amazing stay at Alma Vida Hotel. When booking this hotel, we were skeptical as it had no reviews on Expedia but were pleasantly surprised as the hotel is in a beautiful location right outside Manuel Antonio National Park, with nice clean updated rooms that are very airy and comfortable. There is some work/renovation being done on the property, however, it never bothered us. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were very friendly and kind. I would definitely stay here again!

Property is looking good from outside, but rooms are extremely old from inside. For example, bathroom sink, toilet or shower are very rustic and old and seem to not have been renovated since ages. Everything else is fine and beautiful within hotel premise and surrounding and views from hotel room balcony are awesome. Staff is very nice so their services are good. Free breakfast made to order is also awesome and one of the positive for the hotel.

The room was very good and also the staff very helpful, I wish to thank Victor and Kevin, who really helped us. I have a complaint, related to breakfast. Food was good but in very small amount. In the first day it was complete but in the following days eggs became egg, breads became a slice and fruits were 5-6 small pieces or half a banana. This should not happen considering the high price we paid. I am sure Victor did the best he could, the problem was at administration I suppose.

This property is located on the side of a busy street but it is possible to walk to the beach (down the hill) in about 25 minutes. There is a bus route that will take you back up the hill for <$1. The room that we stayed in was clean but not luxurious. The bed was clean and comfortable, the pillows were supportive. The AC worked. The bathroom was spacious, modern and the shower was powerful and the water pressure adequate. The closet was somewhat simple with limited space for hanging/storage. There was enough room to store our suitcases. The hotel provided towels for pool use. Our room had a balcony with a hanging egg chair and a table with 2 chairs. It was a pleasant set up but not luxurious as mentioned. There was no TV in the room. The windows were a little grimy, but the block out curtains were effective. The dining room was spartan and I wasn't sure if the restaurant provided lunch or dinner as we never used it. We only ate breakfast there, which was simple but sufficient; a choice of American style (eggs, bacon, toast), Tico style (eggs, plantains, tortillas) or fruit and granola. There was plenty of self serve coffee or tea. We looked at the rooftop bar but it did not appear to be used. There were several other bars (one by the main pool and a coffee bar) that did not seem to be open when we were there. We stayed in early April so not sure if we were in shoulder season or the hotel is in the process of upgrading them. The hotel used to be called Hotel Casitas Eclipse.
