"We were delighted to find we were staying in a stately home worthy of Downton Abbey. Absolutely beautiful inside and out. Wonderful spaces for the guest with fireplaces and comfortable chairs in beautifully coordinated fabrics, as you'd expect from the previous home of Laura Ashleys family, (although subtley not massively floral). The restaurent was lovely and the food superb. Staff were friendly and helpful. The grounds and views over the Brecon Beacons was lovely, with lots of pubs nearby, and other restaurents in nearby Brecon. Our room had a confortable 4 poster bed and lovely ensuite with a seperate shower and Bath, and a great view. It was one floor up and the stairs were wide and not steep so I managed with my stick. We were able to park right out the front door in the big turning circle. Overall it could not have been better!"

"Well maintained and characteristic property with exposed beams and period features combined with modern decor and facilities. The only thing to be aware of is there is no shower in either bathroom (likely due to low ceilings), although both have a mixer tap with a showerhead so you can sit / kneel and shower this way. Whilst its proximity to the road is close, it was not a busy road, so passing traffic was not an issue during our stay. There was a pub within 1min walk of the property that also served food which is very welcoming. The location does mean you are at least 15min from any shops, so it's well worth bringing essentials (bread , milk etc ) with you so you can settle in first. The garden is raised , so you need to climb up a few steps to access and get to the picnic table area"

"Great location, very friendly and helpful owner (Steve), excellent facilities and very comfortable holiday home ….with 7 days of 20+ temperatures and wall to wall sunshine ! …only very slight negative being that the windows could prob do with a better clean given the great views. Steve’s recommendation of the Seven Stars at Aberedw about 2 miles away was also excellent…nothing fancy about the food but very tasty, good portions and a really nice environment in a community owned country pub."

"The cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable weekend stay. It’s in a great location for exploring the town and the area and we would book again. We couldn’t find any street parking near the cottage, but there is a pay and display car park a few minutes walk away. The WiFi did keep dropping out, but it didn’t really cause us a problem. Overall good experience. "
