The rooms needed a bit of tlc - basic things like the towels were threadbare, the grouting in the shower room needed a damn good scrub… there were insufficient sun beds on the beach and most had been uncomfortably mended with wooden slats. The restaurant at the hotel was good but there are not many easily accessible other places to eat that were reliably open. The restaurant adjacent to the hotel had random opening hours the next two nearest...

"Had 3 nights of stay at TDR over Easter holiday with my kids. The location is 5min walk from ABC jetty, with 3 restaurants surround the property, many choices and good taste. We went to scuba diving, snorkeling trips around Tioman and the packages can be easily bought through the reception. The manager is super helpful with all the booking, and took care of my junior divers with a special dive masters. Very happy to the arrangement. Will definitely come back again!"

"We had a great time at Paya. As expected (from the reviews) personnel wasn’t great but certainly good enough. Food wasn’t bad and we were glad we had some options in the Kampung. The location is excellent and the scuba services were fine. Snorkeling is great and we made a few delightful hikes. "

"Definitely the best on the island, but for the price compared to a similar holiday it comes out as pricey, nontheless we visited for the marine life and nature , that did not dissapoint and as far as Pulau Tioman goes , Berjaya Is the most comfortable place to do this from!"
