A rua é na verdade um calçadão montado sobre um conjunto de estacas que sustentam as habitações construídas sobre a água .Antigamente era o distrito da luz vermelha de Ketchikan. Os bordeis foram proibidos e fechados em 1954. A partir daí a rua se transformou em um local com lojas, galerias, totens e o museu da Casa da Dolly. A Creek Street foi listada no Registro Nacional de Lugares Históricos em 2014.
