"The air was very damp and smelled like mold. There was indeed some black mold on the shower curtain and on the window curtain. Everything felt slightly damp in the room including our pillows. It was therefore extremely uncomfortable and hard to sleep. We woke up in the morning feeling nausea presumably because of the disgusting air. There was also a door to the outside that rattled loudly every time a gust of wind blew which also made it hard to sleep. Overall I would recommend finding different...

On a bus route, tho' I recommend renting a car if possible as everything on Pico Is. is more accessible if you have your own transportation. "The management (owners?) were very pleasant and helpful, as were all staff. The room was spacious and well prepared. The Hotel offered everything we wanted and was convenient for a short walk down to the Harbour at Horta, which was our main place to visit. Overall, extremely pleased with the quality and value the Hotel offered and provided. It is not a 5 star facility but clean, tidy, spacious and ideal for our stay on a budget. We would recommend this hotel."

"Great location in Velas, beautiful property with pool, sitting deck with ocean view, sunsets and Morro Grande view and hiking within 10 minutes walk. Close to supermarket and restaurants, ideal location in Velas. Good buffet breakfast. Beds were a little too firm for me but great for my partner...highly recommended for location, cleanliness and great staff! "
